Doctora Dorada, 2024-25
Performance-installation
Doctora Dorada emerged from a moment of institutional friction — a form of academic dissent that exaggerates the rituals of legitimacy structuring contemporary knowledge: measurement, accreditation, productivity, and visibility. Rather than positioning herself outside the institution, she operates from within it, amplifying its logics until their theatrical nature becomes visible.
Her first activation, Advanced Explorations: Innovative Perspectives on Unexplored Phenomena, consisted of deliberately absurd micro-lectures such as The Importance of Counting Sand and The Sound of Crickets on Mars, exposing how authority can be constructed through form, language, and staging alone. Gold functioned simultaneously as armor and symptom — a seductive surface promising value while concealing structural fragility.
During this intervention, she introduced the Air Sculptures: immaterial works defined solely through framing and spatial designation, questioning whether institutional validation alone can generate artistic value.
The project later expanded into installation through the Golden Archive, a constellation of everyday objects coated in gold — a childhood pen, a plastic container, a mask, a plate of golden macaroni — ironizing the commodification of knowledge and the confusion between visibility and depth.
This inquiry culminated in Peso Acedémico ( Academic Weight) Acción Spring(t), Complutense University of Madrid, 2025, where academic documents were weighed alongside absurd gold-covered objects, shifting the question of value from the measurable toward the symbolic: what truly carries weight — thought itself, or its certification?
In parallel, a choral piece published in Dislocada transformed bureaucratic academic language into a collective chant (“Curriculum curriculum more… Paper paper paper whole…”), turning institutional saturation into shared performance.
Far from mere satire, Doctora Dorada operates as a critical methodology: infiltrating institutional structures to expose their economies of prestige and reclaim knowledge as a lived, shared, and fundamentally immeasurable experience.
